What is the number one problem with Black people in America?

What do you think is the number one problem with black people in America? When you look around we have a lot of issues. We have gang problems, we have financial problems because The net worth of a Black family in America is $6,100 versus $67,000 for a White family! We have education problems because Only 45% of Black men graduate from high school in the United States! We have employment problems because 53% of Black men aged 25-34 are either unemployed or earn too little to lift a family of four from poverty! We have mental problems because black men are constantly killing each other.

And guess what I believe that all of these things are by products of the core problem.

What is the core problem your ask?

70% OF BLACK CHILDREN ARE BORN TO SINGLE FAMILY MOTHERS!

This is what I believe is the core of the problem. Let me start by saying thank to the single black mothers for raising our black children.

Black people....Let's say that 30% black children were born to single family mother. If that were the case then we would not have a gang problem because a father would be in the home provide stern father-style parenting.

We would not have net worth issue because you can afford more as family.

We would not have education problem because there would be 2 people in the home to help educate the kids.

The list goes on and on....The black family has almost ceased to exist. Black children were more like to grow up with both of their parents during slavery than they are today.

Think about it! you don't have to agree with me you just have to respond!

I think the number one problem is our self-esteem/awareness. Slavery created self-hate for us and racism/entitlement for whites. If we could educate ourselves and realize that we are truly a resilient, powerful, beautiful people, we would be in better shape. We also need to realize that materialism feeds into our own poverty and creates detraction from solving our problems. We also need to realize that we cannot depend on whites and stop trying to assimilate into their madness.

Man...You have some extremely great points..and I agree with you on all sorts of levels. However, everything you mentioned, in my humble opinion, are by-products of poor family structure or in our case the non-existence of the family structure. Moreover, if these things are direct by-products of poor family structure then I would bet my right arm that these issues could be and would be radically altered in a positive fashion if we would start to be more cognizant of the fact that having several children with multiple women is severely effecting our race.....and that our country's financial system was set up to benefit family structures on all sorts of levels.

In addition to that, I feel that, while you can parent fairly well while you are not living in the house with your kids...However, I am sure you would agree that the most effect way to parent is to parent everyday and you need to be in the home to do that.

I understand that every relationship does not work out, however, we are at a 70% clip!?!?!?! That has got to be a problem.

Our lack of knowledge of self and our historical enemy. We shouldn't dwell on the past but like the Jewish community does, we should use it to realize that we were targeted as a group by those who still view the human condition as "the human RACE". Other groups are in competition with us and need a scapegoat because of the fear that if things go bad, they will be closer to the power structure in terms of power and influence.

We need to realize that we need to work as a group and stop totally buying into the American dream by thinking it means that we are individuals first. We are a group first and we can get money individually and collectively, but make sure the money circulates in our community first and many times before it leaves.

Education is the legal hustle. Our children are being lead to believe that the criminal lifestyle is the way to "get rich or die trying" as 50 cent instructed. No one has to die trying to get rich. All you have to do is study, get good grades and choose your career path and of course sacrifice some personal and egotistical desires and you will succeed. I tell my young brothers and sisters that if they're not careful they will end up seeing thier peers of other ethnic groups as thier employers, interviewers, police, realtors, landlords, mayors, doctors, lawyers etc... because they received an education while our children were trying to be pimps, players, drug dealers, gang bangers and hoes!
